Princess Drive

This 1980s renovation in Nelson delivers the perfect contemporary home for enjoying indoor and outdoor living and beautiful views over Tasman Bay.

Despite its location, this original 1980’s home on Princess Drive had very limited outdoor space. We started by opening up the kitchen and living spaces and adding an extra frame outside the sea frontage.

Built for good.

This allowed us to to economically create vast opening sliders and new windows without having to alter the structure of the existing house. The result is a better ‘indoor outdoor’ flow from the new living area to the deck. The deck was built with new hardwood and postless glazing from Richmond Glass gives the expansive space a luxurious feel. Louvres from Contour Roofing were added for shade and shelter, allowing for year round use of the space.

High on the owner’s list of priorities was to create a home for the long term. We updated the very dated interior spaces and reclad the exterior in low maintenance BCG Board. The home was painted inside and out by Pure Eco Painting, with paint from The Natural Paint Company. We also extended the garages above so the owners can now comfortably access their stunning home via two garages.
