Istana Place – New Home Build

Istana Place home is a true showcase of Big Bad Wolf’s creative and versatile building capabilities. We worked closely with the architects – Design Base on the design of the home right from the beginning, enabling us to ensure the home was built in the most efficient way.

This unique 215m2 home is built to highlight the features of natural timber and material and utilises clever retaining techniques to overcome the challenges of the steep landscape. Board form retaining ties the cladding into the concrete work and the appealing timber finish.

The external cladding consists of a beautiful Siberian Larch that has been singed to a striking charcoal finish – a process that also preserves the timber. Other areas of the home have been chosen for their rich colours and hard-wearing properties and are oiled to retain the natural hardwood grain and colour.
